We sell our products to all markets and industries, includingresidential, commercial, industrial and governmental. We havethe experience and capacity to partner with businesses on anytype of container related project, large and small.

What is the difference between a custom build andstandard model?
Custom Builds
We will craft a custom container home specific to your uniqueneeds and location. Using a combination of stacked oradjoined 20ft and 40ft containers, we will create your dreamhome. We design our container homes to maximize the viewsand features of your property. We can incorporate just aboutanything into our container homes. We've built workshops,done a putting green, made a large rooftop garden, builtcustom furniture, and more.
Standard Model
Our Standard container models are inspired by our mostpopular custom builds. Purchasing a standard containeroption from our website is the quickest and most affordableway to get your Backcountry Container, as it reduces a lot ofthe lead times and indirect costs that go into building a fullycustom container home structure. Same quality, better price,.delivered to you.

Are there any extra costs or fees?
Yes, shipping and sales tax.
Shipping -Shipping fees for all builds depend on the distancefrom our build site (either in the Texas or Wisconsin area)Shipping typically costs around $3 per mile. Delivery for allbuilds will be quoted at time of purchase. For delivery, wemust be able to drive our fatbed, tiltbed or chassis to the siteto be unloaded.
Sales Tax -Sales tax will be applied to the contract amountupon purchase. The sales tax rate applied will depend onwhich state your container is shipped to.

Can l move my Backcountry Container?
Technically, yes. lf you have appropriate transport (flatbed,chassis, etc.), and you ensure all utilities are disconnect
ed, thecontainer can be moved at your discretion.

Will the metal rust on a Backcountry Container?
The short answer is Yes. Corten steel will rust much slowerthan mild steel, and will remain water proof through itslifetime. Corten containers are corrosion resistant. Addedlayers of rust resistant paint and primer provides extrasupport.

What type of containers do you use?
Our containers are either brand new or 'one trip', meaning theyshipped cargo one time before they were sold to us. 'One trip'containers are considered like new and rarely have anyblemishes on them. We inspect all containers for quality whenwe receive them.

What foundation options are available for shippingcontainer homes?
Our preferred general contractor can help you find and installthe right foundation for your container home. The mostimportant element of a container home foundation is that theground is level. lf it is level, a container home can be set thereWith that said, we recommend using one of these foundationoptions:
Railroad ties -this is often the least expensive optionthat can be used as a permanent foundation, and is theideal option if you would like to move your containerhome some time in the future
Gravel pads -this option won't break the bank and isconsidered a long term, reliable, foundation forcontainer homes.
Concrete slab -this is often the most expensive optionbut also the most air tight when it comes to keepingyour container home level and in place.

Can Backcountry Containers help with permitting, ifnecessary?
We are not experts on all the regulations and permittingrequired that is specific to certain cities, counties and statelocalities across the United States. We recommend utilizing alocal general contractor familiar with your geographic regionto assist you with permitting and navigating local regulations.

How will my Backcountry Container be delivered?
Depending on the configuration chosen, your container will bedelivered on the appropriate transport, whether it be a flatbed,tiltbed or chassis. lf a crane is required, we arrange for that aswell.
